Gracious Waiting!

Prayers

1. Father, I will not wait in vain for good things in the name of Jesus.

2. God’s good thoughts and plans will be established in my life, family, and destiny in the name of Jesus.

It is my prayer that:

You will not wait in vain for good things in Jesus’ name.

God’s good plans and purposes will be established in your life, family, and destiny in the name of Jesus.

The topic we are reviewing today have been a source of concern to many:

· God says I should wait for my miracle, how long should I wait?

· Have I waited enough?

· Is God waiting for me to act?

· Am I the one hindering my blessing because God is waiting for me to act while I am wrongly waiting for God to act?

· Who should wait for Who? Should I still wait for God, or should I act now?

These and many others plague the souls of many daily.

Trusting that God will grant guidance, solutions and ways forward to many today in Jesus’ name.

Isaiah 30:18

Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. (ESV)

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. (KJV)

What does gracious mean?

· To be courteous, kind, and pleasant.

· Magnanimous

· Merciful

· Compassionate

What does to wait mean?

· To remain inactive or in a state of repose, as until something expected happens

· Stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or until something else happens.

· Used to indicate that one is eagerly impatient to do something or for something to happen.

What gracious waiting does not mean?

Gracious waiting does not mean that:

· God did not hear the prayer

· God will not answer the prayer

· Sin is necessarily hindering the answer to prayer

What is gracious waiting?

· Gracious waiting is grace in waiting.

· Mercy applied while waiting.

· Withholding judgement and punishment while waiting.

This resolves the question of:

· Who is waiting for who?

· Who is waiting for whom?

Scriptures admonish us on the need to wait on God the way a waiter in a restaurant waits on the customer.

The waiter dutifully listens to the customer's orders, notes them, moves quickly to fulfill the orders, makes sure the delivered order meets the customers satisfaction as if his life and livelihood depends on it - because it does.

The waiter listens to constructive feedback, if any, and takes it to heart Appreciates the tips or bonuses, extra given by the customer.

In the same vein we should be dutiful in our attendance to God whether in our attendance in church prayer meetings and in our personal devotions and prayer times. We should listen to Him speaking to us, taking note of his requirements and instructions and orders.

The bible is not a book of suggestions. It is a book of instructions which if you order your life by it you will live.

Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that Comes out of the mouth of God.

The Bible enjoins us to take fast hold of instructions for it is your life. Deut 32:47 For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

It is your wisdom Deut 4:6, Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

It is good to wait for God in Patience and long suffering for his promises for your life to come to pass or to come to realization - patient waiting. (Romans 8:25)

Acts 1:4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;

However, while waiting for God to act, sometimes God is waiting for us to act.

Let God guide you by the Holy Spirit to know when to act and what to do. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in Obedience (Romans 8:14).

An important part of waiting as Christians is waiting for Jesus to come back in the rapture to take all the saints with Him.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 and to [look forward and confidently] wait for [the coming of] His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus, who [personally] rescues us from the coming wrath [and draws us to Himself, granting us all the privileges and rewards of a new life with Him].

Is 40:31; But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Mic 7:7 But as for me, I will be on the watch for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.

What to do to encounter the fullness of beneficial gracious waiting:

· Be Born Again and pray faith filled assertive prayer

· Avoid sin

· Have faith that God has heard your prayer

· Have faith that God has answered your prayers and that you will see the manifestation soon

Prayer:

1. Father, you are the God of my salvation do not let be ashamed in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, give me wisdom and understanding that will glorify your name in the name of Jesus.

4. Father, the wisdom to know when to wait and when to act give to me in the name of Jesus.

5. Father, give me the grace to enjoy life, peace and progress in the land you have given to me in the name of Jesus.

6. Father, let it be well with me and my children, let your promises come to pass in our lives in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, do not let me miss the second coming of your Son Jesus from heaven, let me be rescued from the coming wrath and granting us the privileges and rewards of a new life with you in Jesus name.

8. Blood of Jesus, deliver me completely from every affliction and bondage by the resurrection power in the name of Jesus.

9. Father, let kings and queens minister to me in the name of Jesus.

10.Power to get wealth, come upon my life in Jesus’ name.

11.I receive healing and deliverance from every sickness and difficult situation in Jesus’ name.

12.Father lay your hand of healing and deliverance on our loved ones with special needs in Jesus’ name.

13.My life and family are shielded with the blood of Jesus against every attack from the kingdom of darkness in Jesus’ name.

14.I receive the anointing of ease in my endeavors in Jesus’ name.
